Disappointed

I ordered three of these units (2 with doors, 1 open) to stack for storage. They fit my small space perfectly and provide the storage capacity I want. But the door on one unit did not open/close properly. It dragged and my husband thought it was the hinges. Customer Service sent another set but this didn't solve the problem. The door was either not cut properly or the holes for the hinges weren't properly spaced. My husband didn't want to deal with returning the unit so he sanded down the door until he was able to open and close without drag. But when the door is closed, you can see that it is not plumb. Poor quality control. I was also disappointed in the paint job, not awful but pretty minimal. Too bad. What could have been really nice is just ok.

(Sawdust City Reply): Thank you for your comments about the modular units, we are sorry they were not everything you had hoped for. After sending the hinges, and not hearing back, we could only believe that the issue with the door was solved; returning an item that is not 100% acceptable is quite easy; we would have picked up the item to repair it for you. Our paint finish is available in an "Old" finish (one coat of paint, sanding and staining) as well as a "Solid" finish which has two coats and a very light sanding. Most of our furniture is purchased for that Old, rustic look. We are happy that your storage needs were met, but sorry that you had an issue with one of the three units.
